Trash & Recycling
The Town of Greentown contracts with Waste Management for weekly trash and bi-weekly recycling removal.
Most trash and debris, when properly bundled and/or contained properly, can be disposed of at curbside with your regular garbage service days. If assistance is needed or you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
For questions specific to trash or recycling pick up, please call the waste management company directly.
TRASH RULES
- Every home and business should have a 96 gallon toter to use.
- All trash must be bagged and fit into one toter.
- What goes in? … (household waste such as food waste, unrecycable package items, and misc. household waste (junk items) are to be disposed of in your toter.
- You may put out double trash on our pick-up day after Christmas and New Year’s Day, which is the heaviest time for trash.
- We will still have our special Spring and Fall Clean up for large items not collected weekly.
- Waste Management will continue to pick up Christmas trees.

Recycling is mandatory in Greentown! There is also a recycling center at the fair grounds.
